And here’s a recap of another exciting, drama filled episode of East Los High:

Another episode of East Los High, and a lot more drama.  We continue to see Jessie struggle with her mom’s cancer diagnosis, her spot on Bomb Squad, her relationship with Jacob, and her friendship with Soli.  More importantly, in my opinion, is how Ceci starts to deal with the realization that this pregnancy is real.

Like we’ve talked about before, one second could change your life forever.  One decision, one move, one piece of news, one whole new life to deal with.  A few of the teens have their lives turned upside down when they receive some disturbing news and others make decisions that could change their lives forever.

Maya is continuing to work hard at the restaurant and being honest with those around her.  Jacob thinks that she is going to steal the tip the customers left for the waiter, but Maya obviously doesn’t.  He lets her keep the money, but not before an apology from her for the hurt she caused his family when she dined and dashed.  While Jacob still doesn’t trust Maya, I feel as if she is starting to gain his approval and acceptance.  Jacob’s father, though, has really taken a liking to her.  He sits her down and explains the risks he took when he was a young adult.  Maya is someone who could take either path.  Even with a rough past, there is no reason you can’t make a positive change and course correct. That is exactly what we see Maya doing.

As the story line of East Los High continues, we become more involved in each character and how all of the events going on are impacting their lives.  Everyone is experiencing change, something that is completely normal during your teen years.  This is the time when you go from being a child to becoming an adult.  Even though it’s a gradual change, every little event helps you along this path.  For the teens at East Los Angeles High School, we definitely see some change and adjustment occurring in Episode 4.

Your teen years are the most carefree years you will have throughout your life. That is, if you make the right choices.  Episode 3 of East Los High seems to be centered on this notion and it is definitely something to take note of.  One bad decision, in one split second, can change your life forever.

Is it time to give it up? Is he the one? Is it what I want to do? These seem to be the questions that Jessie is trying to answer during this episode.

High school is about staying young, working hard in school, getting good grades, hanging out with friends, and preparing for the next stage in life.  In East Los High, we are introduced to teens who are supposed to be doing just that.  Jessie’s mom doesn’t want her to get a job to help out the family so she could focus on her grades and Soli and Jessie want to try out for the Bomb Squad – East Los’s dance team.  But when the pressures of sex come into the equation, sometimes things don’t always work out as planned.
