Maya is continuing to work hard at the restaurant and being honest with those around her.  Jacob thinks that she is going to steal the tip the customers left for the waiter, but Maya obviously doesn’t.  He lets her keep the money, but not before an apology from her for the hurt she caused his family when she dined and dashed.  While Jacob still doesn’t trust Maya, I feel as if she is starting to gain his approval and acceptance.  Jacob’s father, though, has really taken a liking to her.  He sits her down and explains the risks he took when he was a young adult.  Maya is someone who could take either path.  Even with a rough past, there is no reason you can’t make a positive change and course correct. That is exactly what we see Maya doing.

When the Bomb Squad initiation begins, we see Jessie timidly entering the party.  She makes immediate eye contact with Cristian, a character we have yet to meet…or have we?  Vanessa immediately pulls her away to begin the initiation.  The girls are blindfolded by Vanessa and Ceci and are told to open their mouths.  When the squad leaders instruct the two guys in the room to “whip them out,” Jessie rips off her blindfold and leaves the room.  Turns out it was all a joke but understandably, Jessie didn’t find it very funny.  When back down at the party, she accepts the beer Cristian offers her and agrees to dance with him. Soli, invited by Jessie, is waiting outside for Jessie, who isn’t answering her phone. When she gives up on waiting, Soli tries get inside, only to be stopped at the door by Vanessa and Ceci.  Jessie’s quest for acceptance by the Bomb Squad is slowly starting to ruin her friendship with Soli.  However, when Jacob arrives, he is graciously greeted by Vanessa who tells him that Jessie is upstairs.  Jessie isn’t upstairs. Rather, it is Vanessa’s way of luring Jacob into a secluded place that is just the two of them.  She starts taking off his shirt, only to be quickly shut down by him.  Jacob is with Jessie and respects that she takes things slow. I was so proud of Jacob for refusing to accept Vanessa’s seemingly fake apology.

Jessie’s been drinking for a while when Jacob makes his way downstairs.  She quickly moves from dancing with Cristian to kissing Jacob.  The couple dances for a while before Jessie ushers him out to his truck.  They begin making out and taking off each other’s clothing.  Jacob pulls a condom out of his pocket and Jessie nods her head yes.  Did Jessie actually want to have sex with Jacob, or did the alcohol cloud her judgment? Did you know that 20% of teens say they’ve done something sexual while under the influence that they might not have done if they were sober?  It may seem fun to lower your inhibitions but it also makes you less likely to practice safe sex. Yikes!

 This moment quickly ends before it begins because Vanessa purposely crashes into the back of his truck.  Jessie is visibly upset by what occurred and just wants to go home.  We then see Cristian and Vanessa in bed watching a video.  Although I thought Cristian was someone whom I hadn’t met before this episode, I was totally wrong!  He was the one in the sex tape with Vanessa. Scandal!! Vanessa is still trying to plan a scheme to get back at Jessie for taping the act (even though she didn’t…who did?!).  Her plan? Have Cristian “devirginize” Jessie.  And how is she planning to do this? Have him be the Bomb Squad’s new dance coach.  OMG. Let’s see what happens in the next episode!
