East Los High: Did You Just Become My Boss?

Another episode of East Los High, and a lot more drama.  We continue to see Jessie struggle with her mom’s cancer diagnosis, her spot on Bomb Squad, her relationship with Jacob, and her friendship with Soli.  More importantly, in my opinion, is how Ceci starts to deal with the realization that this pregnancy is real.

After her surgery, Jessie’s mom has to take a lot of medication, which can get pretty confusing.  When her mom, however, reaches for a pillbox immediately after taking them, Jessie worries that the cancer may have spread to her brain as well.  She finds support in Maya and Jacob during this difficult time.  Bomb Squad is practicing full throttle with the auditions for Dance Five quickly approaching.  Cristian is trying harder and harder to lure Jessie in and Soli gets upset when Jessie mentions that she considers the girls on the team her friends.  Could you believe she was so cold to Soli?  After refusing to let his father sell the restaurant, Jacob is now in charge of it for the next three months to see if he could turn it around.  I’m thinking this may put a strain on his relationship with Jessie. What do you think?

Ceci gets sick, once again, at practice. She tells Vanessa about her pregnancy and Vanessa is shocked.  Vanessa thought Ceci was taking birth control pills, which she was, but not correctly.  If you don’t take them at about the same time each day, EVERY DAY, they don’t work!  In addition, Vanessa asks why she didn’t use the emergency contraception that she gave her. Ceci asks if she could take it now, which she can’t.  Emergency contraception, such as Plan B, can only be used up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, and the sooner, the better.  Once there’s a pregnancy, every option is difficult.  Whether you decide to become a parent, create an adoption plan, or terminate the pregnancy, there is no easy choice. To make sure you are never put in the position to choose, look through our birth control explorerand find the method that’s right for you.  Vanessa tells her to forget about ever touring with her.  While Ceci thinks she will only need a few months off from dancing, Vanessa says it’s going to be more like 18 years.  And she’s right – being a parent is a 24/7/365 job that lasts 18 years. Not only will Ceci have to make a lot of sacrifices to raise her child, she also has to tell the father of her baby, Abe.  He seems excited that he is going to be a father and offers Ceci the option of moving in with him after her aunt kicks her out for being pregnant.  However, Ceci has yet to meet his mother and when the two finally meet, things do not go well.  Abe’s mother is extremely angry and upset that he got someone pregnant. Also, what’s up with those sunglasses?!

Can’t wait to see what happens as we follow Ceci throughout her pregnancy in the coming episodes!
