Talking the birds and bees isn't always easy, but someone's gotta do it!

The Al Jazeera America network has a new docu-series that we are going crazy for! It’s called Edge of Eighteen, and our panel of Stay Teen testers got a special sneak peak of this Sunday’s episode—and they loved it. 

Every week, we get a ton of questions asking everything from how to use a condom to how to talk to that cute guy in AP English. When we get a really good one, we want to share it with the world because—chances are—more than one person has the very same question. I know some teens think that having unprotected sex is no big deal, because they don’t think STI’s or unplanned pregnancy will happen to them. I understand your thinking process. I was also that kid who believed I’d never catch anything or that gross things like STI’s would  happen to anyone I knew. Then my mother opened the floodgates and taught me everything about sex education and the consequences of having unprotected sex.

With May being Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month and all, it got me to thinking about sex. Sex has been a fad for a while now, pretty much since the beginning of humanity. With the exception of one historical figure, it’s how we all got to be here. 

So, this isn’t 14^th century England and you’re not betrothed to your best friend’s older brother. There’s no rush to get married, and some people aren’t even doing that anymore! So, why rush the whole parent thing, too? Right now there’s no expiration date on when you can have kids, and let’s face it, are you more excited to change a diaper or find a date to prom? I think we all know the answer. 

Virgins and former virgins of the world, be happy. You now all have a not-so-masked crusader telling you just why you should be so proud of your virginity. Being a former virgin is great of course, but virginity has some great perks.

Sex and the City. We’ve all heard of it, watched it, or even talked about it in some capacity. It follows the lives of a few fabulous women making their way in sex, love, fashion, and friendship in NYC. Though its run on TV has ended, their origin tale is still in production on The Carrie Diaries, which follows the unique story of Carrie Bradshaw upon her introduction to city life.
