East Los High: Maya’s Secret Recipes
And here’s a recap of another exciting, drama filled episode of East Los High:
With Paulina still in town to help care for Jessie’s mom, she tries her best to talk to both girls about safe sex. She mentions all the ways of preventing STIs, pregnancies, and the importance of having a trusted adult to speak to about it. Ceci is continuing to deal with her unplanned pregnancy, suffering through morning sickness and new feelings in her body. To make matters worse, Abe has been M.I.A. lately and his mother is making her life miserable. In order to continue living at Abe’s house, Ceci must do tons of chores before going to school or Bomb Squad practice. She reluctantly agrees to do them all, but things get a bit creepy when his mom hands her a water bottle of “special tea” she made. When drinking it at school, Vanessa warns Ceci about the rumors that Abe’s mom is a witch and that could be a weird potion. Realistic? Who knows, but still pretty creepy.
Jacob is working hard at improving the restaurant and proving to his father that it is worth keeping. With Maya’s help, they make a new menu, redecorate the restaurant, and start picking up ingredients to make new fresh and healthier dishes. As Jacob and Maya are enjoying a posting shopping snack, she and Ramon made eye contact with each other. Maya runs as fast as she can away from that situation, with Ramon chasing her and Jacob not far behind.
We eventually find out that Maya was unfortunately put in a very scary and serious situation with Ramon. If you or someone you know has ever experienced any form of sexual abuse, a check out this great resource http://www.rainn.org/ for more information.
