East Los High: Good Girls Don’t
In this episode, it seems as if everything finally comes out. That’s what I call a good episode!
While Ramon is in the motel room with a gun, Maya decides to stay at the church and watch the wedding. Jacob sees her hiding behind a pole and is shocked. As the wedding starts, everyone seems nervous. Jacob’s father walks Jessie down the aisle with Maya is crying in the background. At first, Jacob is not smiling at all. He then starts to smile as he looks down the aisle and imagines that it is Maya in the wedding dress walking down the aisle and not Jessie. Maya finally breaks down and leaves the church, with Reina following behind her. The two leave the wedding and decide it’s time to go back to the motel and grab their belongings and head to San Francisco. However, they don’t realize there is someone waiting for them behind their door.
Back at the wedding, Jacob is extremely nervous and is stuttering when saying “I do.” When it is Jessie’s turn, she hesitates. She tells Jacob that they need to talk, and talk right now. In a separate room away from the guests, Jessie tells Jacob she can’t let him marry her. She lied about her pregnancy and she doesn’t think it is him who got her pregnant. Jessie finally reveals the truth to Jacob; it is Cristian’s baby and she cheated on him. Jacob is totally and understandably upset about this. He gave up everything for her and yet it was all for a lie. Jessie tells him to go find Maya because he should be with her. He runs out through the church and tells the guests the wedding is off. Vanessa follows him out and tells him that she knew the entire time. She shows him the video of Jessie and Cristian. Jacob is mad that Vanessa knew and didn’t share the information with him.
Right before Maya and Reina enter their room, Ramon hides behind the shower curtain. The two enter and Maya heads into the bathroom to gather her belongings. Ramon jumps out from behind the curtain and starts attacking her. He then knocks out Reina, but Maya fights back. Ramon tries to rape her again. Reina gets back up and attacks Ramon. As the two are wrestling and fighting with each other, the gun goes off. Reina seems okay, but Ramon is shot. She wants Maya to leave because they will both be arrested. However, before Maya could leave, the door opens are the police are there.
Paulina goes back to Jessie to support her and speak with her. The two talk about the other options that Jessie has and Paulina tells her she doesn’t have to go through with the pregnancy and suggests terminating the pregnancy. But Jessie says good girls don’t do that. Paulina says, “yes WE do.” She reveals to Jessie that she got pregnant around Jessie’s age. Her parents didn’t know and it was her decision. She still doesn’t think it’s a bad choice and she personally never regretted her decision.
Every road is extremely difficult once you get pregnant. We saw Ceci struggling in the previous episode to raise her child and we see Jessie struggling now with her decision. In order to prevent having to struggle with these decisions and situations, protect yourself now!

Love your show to death
This is such a great show. It shows the true and serious up and downs of teens and the real hardship that many of them face in their young lives. From being a virgin to losing thay virginity; teen pregnancy to STDs. Even bringing into light the very difficult self-esteem issues often seen and witnessed with the inherent ‘cliques’ and the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ of teenagers. The show sheds some real light on what very few readily speak about openly.
