Have you ever had a DTR (define the relationship) talk?
He loves me, he loves me not. If only understanding relationships was as easy as picking the petals off a flower, we’d all be a lot less stressed…and a lot of bloggers, writers, and pay-by-the-minute advice phone lines would be out of business. So how do you know what’s going on in your relationship? Are you just friends? Are you something more? Sometimes you just know. But sometimes, you actually have to ask and have the dreaded DTR talk.
We’ve all been there. But ultimately, each DTR (while awkward and stressful for you AND, presumably, the other person) should end up clarifying the relationship. Either you realize things are going nowhere and save yourself the extra months of working on a failing relationship, or you learn that there’s potential in something you thought couldn’t possibly work. Yes—DTRs can suck. But they can also be really enlightening.
In the comments, tell us about your best or your worst DTR.
